Needles and sharps
Training should reinforce safe needle handling, immediate disposal into an appropriate sharps container, prevention of recapping and a clear response if a sharp is dropped or an injury occurs.
Sterile and clean workflow
Piercers should understand how to preserve sterile items, separate clean jewellery and tools from contaminated equipment, change gloves at the right moments and prevent contact with unprotected surfaces.
Incident readiness
Every studio needs a simple reporting route and access to urgent medical assessment after a needlestick, splash to eyes or mouth, or blood contact with non-intact skin.
Check authoritative safety guidance
Course learning should be compared with current official guidance and the rules that apply where you work. Review the authoritative BBP references and international-use note.
